The goal here was to make a larger kitchen in the same space. We chose both painted and rift Oak cabinets, and natural wood floating shelves.
We used 2 tricks to enlarge the kitchen:
- Created a peninsula, which added storage, prep space, and in-kitchen dining.
- Slid the fridge to the left, and added a bank of tall cabinets with storage on the kitchen side, and display shelves on the living room side.
There were few changes to the footprint. We moved the dishwasher to the right of the sink, and enlarged the window, and brought the oak flooring all the way into the kitchen.
